    Position TitleAssistant Private Secretary (APS) (Basic Scale-16)
    Core MissionTo serve as the confidential administrative aide to senior officials within the Finance Division. The APS is responsible for ensuring the officer’s workflow is seamless, efficient, and professionally managed, enabling them to focus on their core strategic and policy-making duties. This is a critical support role that underpins the effectiveness of the ministry’s leadership.
    Key Responsibilities▸ Stenography & Correspondence: Taking dictation in shorthand at high speed (100 w.p.m.) and accurately transcribing it through typing (50 w.p.m.). Managing all incoming and outgoing mail, drafting letters, and preparing official communications.<br>▸ Schedule & Meeting Management: Maintaining the officer’s diary, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and preventing scheduling conflicts. This includes preparing meeting agendas, circulating necessary documents, and taking minutes.<br>▸ File and Information Management: Handling sensitive and confidential files with the utmost discretion. Maintaining an organized filing system for quick retrieval of information and ensuring the secure handling of all documents.<br>▸ Computer & Office Operations: Being fully computer literate is essential. This includes proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), managing email correspondence, and utilizing the internet for research and communication. These secretariat jobs in Pakistan require modern tech skills.<br>▸ Liaison & Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact between the senior officer and other government departments, external stakeholders, and the public.     Required Qualificationsi. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (at least Second Class or Grade “C”) from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).<br>ii. Technical Skills: A minimum speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) in Shorthand and 50 words per minute (w.p.m.) in Typing.<br>iii. Computer Literacy: Must be proficient in using computers and basic office software.
    Age LimitCandidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age. However, a general age relaxation of five (05) years in the upper age limit will be granted as per the Government of Pakistan’s recruitment policy (SRO 586(I)/99, dated 18-05-1999). This makes the effective upper age limit 33 years for most applicants. Further age relaxations may be applicable under specific categories as per rules.
