Understanding HEC Eligibility Criteria
The university adheres to the eligibility criteria set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for all faculty appointments. While the specific requirements can vary slightly by discipline, the general criteria for the advertised positions are as follows:
- For the position of Assistant Professor:
- A PhD degree in the relevant field from a HEC recognized university or institution is typically required. There is generally no experience requirement post-PhD. The appointment is based on the quality of research, publications, and the relevance of the doctoral specialization to the department’s needs.
- For the position of Lecturer:
- A Master’s Degree/M.Phil or equivalent degree (awarded after 18 years of education) in the relevant field from a HEC recognized university or institution is the minimum requirement.
- Candidates must have obtained at least a first division (or equivalent CGPA) in their academic career.
